Eternit - Rotor

Eternit - Rotor

Color sample of Glasal façade cladding produced by Eternit in the sixties. The revolutionary material was used to bring colour and opacity in curtain facades with aluminium framing. It consists primarily of cement and asbestos fibres. While this fibrous mineral material has meanwhile been outlawed for use in building materials, it is still very much present in the building stock, provoking serious health risks when fibres are inhaled.

Obtained from private collection, Belgium, 2012.
