Jeonghwa Seo (b.1982) is a South Korean designer and artist whose practice operates at the intersection of fine art, craftsmanship, and functional design.

After completing Bachelor of Fine art and Design at Hongik University in Seoul, Seo received his Master’s degree in Contextual Design from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2010 and a Ph.D. in Design from Seoul National University in 2024.

At the core of Seo’s methodology is a rigorous investigation into functional forms and tactile perception. Seo’s practice paired standardized geometric volumes with contrasting materials—such as brass, rosewood, basalt, acrylic, and aluminum—to examine how variations in texture, temperature, density, and surface alter the human sensory experience. 

Seo's work has been featured in design publications, including Dezeen, Architectural Digest, and Elle Decor, among others. Notable collaborations includes custom designs for Christian Dior Seongsu Concept Store in Seoul (2022), alongside bespoke furniture collections for Louis Vuitton retail interiors (2022). His works are also in the collection of Victoria & Albert museum (London, UK) and National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (Seoul Korea).
