Milan Design Week | Fountains by Arthur Hoffner

In a continuous effort to support new talent, Carwan Gallery is proud to collaborate with Villa Noailles, to present a preview of the project Fountains by Arthur Hoffner. The winner of the 2017 Public Prize at the Design Parade, will feature his work during Milan Design Week, from 15 to 22 April, 2018 in an installation at the Senato Hotel courtyard pool. The full project will be unveiled during the summer exhibition of Design Parade, between 29 June and 14 September, 2018.

Arthur Hoffner

Paris, France

Arthur Hoffner is a French visual artist born in 1990.

He became interested in ironwork at a very young age, which he perfected at the Coubertin Foundation with fellow students before studying applied arts at the Ecole Boulle. He then joined the ENSCI - Les Ateliers, where he obtained a master's degree in industrial design with the congratulations of the Jury in 2014. 

His practice is located at the junction point between craftsmanship, sculpture and industrial design. 
Passionate about the history of the techniques and the forms they generate, which seems to express the relationship of Man to the world through time, he seeks to establish in his work crossroads between millenary and emerging techniques, marriages between current forms and artifacts of vanished civilizations.

Arthur has worked with various companies such as La Gaîté Lyrique, the Théatre de Nanterre - Amandiers, Villa Noailles, Hermès, Van Cleef & Arpels, and the Manufacture de Sèvres. He has won numerous awards, including first prize in the Cinna design competition, the Déclics Jeunes scholarship from the Fondation de France, the call for projects Création en Cours from the Médicis workshops, the public prize for parade design at Villa Noailles and was recently awarded the FoRte scheme in the Ile de France region.

During the 63rd Salon de Montrouge in which he participated with a family of sculpture-fountains, he received the Révélations Arts Plastiques prize from ADAGP.
